From Colour to Mask Journal
This journal shares the stories and creative explorations behind my picture book From Colour to Mask.
Through colour, plasticine, and drawing, I document how simple experiments can grow into characters, masks, and storytelling.
These reflections come from my sketchbooks, studio practice, and years of working with children — exploring how creativity develops through process, play, and imagination.
The Story Behind From Colour to Mask

These journal entries document the creative development behind the picture book From Colour to Mask, exploring how colour, imagination, and playful experimentation can evolve into characters, masks, and stories.
The reflections trace ideas that grew from my personal sketchbooks, studio explorations, and many years of creative work with children. They also include experiments with colour mixing, mask-making, and character design that later informed both the book and the workshop series connected to it.
Some entries reflect earlier teaching experiences, while others document recent explorations developed through my studio practice and workshops with children.
Together, these notes form a record of how artistic ideas slowly evolve — from simple colour experiments into visual storytelling and creative learning experiences.
