A personal interpretation of the Kalymnian waterbearer exploring migration, women’s labour, memory and cultural inheritance. The work is an important starting point for Carrying Place. |  Maria Grujicic, Fire 2025Maria Grujicic, Fire, 2025 Handmade wearable headdress constructed from painted fabric forms, wire, clay, crystals, beads and upcycled textiles. Originally developed for performance, Fire evolved into a sculptural wearable work exploring movement, transformation, contrast and embodied form. The piece demonstrates my use of hand-built structures, reclaimed materials and wearable construction, approaches that will be extended through Carrying Place. |

The work demonstrates my existing practice of translating research, symbolism and environmental concerns into embodied sculptural form through repurposed and existing materials. |
