A flowing artist-designed skater skirt featuring a motif developed from original mixed-media artwork by Maria Grujicic Studio.

The design began with layered colour, tactile surfaces and organic hand-made forms. For this garment, the motif has been isolated and enlarged across a muted denim-blue skirt, with a deep navy waistband creating a clean contrast and allowing the artwork to remain the focal point.

The artwork is intentionally given space to breathe rather than repeated across the entire garment. As the skirt moves, the folds subtly change the way the motif is seen, bringing movement into the composition.

I have now received and worn this skirt myself and was especially pleased with the fit, movement and overall feel. The skater shape falls beautifully, feels comfortable to wear and allows the artwork to remain clear and expressive without overwhelming the garment.

It can be worn as part of the coordinating artist-designed set or styled separately with a simple navy, white, neutral or chocolate-brown top. I have tried it with chocolate myself and found that the deeper brown makes the artwork colours stand out beautifully.
