Original printmaking reimagined as a child’s artist-designed dress.
The Tactile Study Girls’ Sleeveless Sundress was developed from an experimental printmaking work created during my university art studies.
The original artwork evolved through printing, tearing, layering and intuitive responses to colour and form. For this children’s edition, I translated the work into a softer palette of lavender, olive, dusty mauve, blue and mustard.
The artwork creates a focal point on the bodice, while quieter areas of colour continue through the skirt, giving the composition space to breathe and keeping the garment playful without becoming visually busy.
