Flowing Forms is an artist-designed ceramic mug featuring a wraparound adaptation of an original studio artwork by Maria Grujicic. The design developed through an intuitive process of translating colour, movement and tactile mark-making from one artwork into another. Flowing bands of turquoise, yellow, orange, red and violet continue around the mug, creating a continuous composition rather than a single front-facing image. This yellow colourway has a soft yellow interior, rim and handle, picking up the warmer tones within the artwork and giving the mug a lighter, sunnier feel. Created as part of the Studio Goods collection, the mug is designed as a functional piece of art for everyday coffee, tea or hot drinks.
